As the flames grew in the car, the panic inside me set in. That was the day everything changed.

Not everyone will face that kind of panic but panic doesn’t always need fire to feel real. Sometimes it’s triggered by fear, by past experiences, or for no clear reason at all. So, when it comes, it can feel like the flames are back, closing in, impossible to escape.

Yesterday was proof of that. I was having a great day. Work went well. I was heading out feeling good. And then out of nowhere…boom. Panic. No warning. No reason. Just a wave that hit and tried to take me down.

Since my accident, I’ve worked hard to grow stronger, to not live afraid, to manage the panic. Most days, I succeed. But panic doesn’t play fair. It shows up in odd places, when I’m least prepared, and it throws me off balance.

Even if you’re working hard to handle it and one slips by, it doesn’t erase your progress. Having a panic attack doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you’re human. And being vulnerable enough to name it, that’s a strength all its own.

Moments of panic don’t define us. They pass. When they do, we are reminded that even in the hardest moments…we are still moving forward.

Remember: panic may shake you, but it cannot take away the progress you’ve made.
