This week was full—plenty to do, lots to think through, and even more to carry. I found myself moving from one thing to the next, checking boxes but wondering if I was missing something in the process.
That’s when one of my favorite Gospel parables: Mary and Martha, brought it all in perspective.
Martha was busy doing all the right things, but Mary in choosing to be present, sat at Jesus’ feet…not because she had nothing to do but because she knew what mattered most.
I’ve been thinking a lot about that. Especially while reading The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. It’s reminded me that not every problem needs solving, not every opinion needs a reaction, and not every moment needs my full control.
Sometimes the better choice is to pause. To sit. To listen.
There’s power in presence and peace in letting go of what doesn’t matter.
So as we begin a new week, maybe the invitation isn’t to do more…it’s to be still more. To trust that what’s most important won’t pass us by.
