Of all the books I’ve read this year… The Next Conversation stands out.
It reminded me that real leadership…real connection…doesn’t require a stage or clout.
It requires intention.
The next conversation is often the most important one…because it is the next moment to live in…I don’t mean the big presentation or the big donor meeting but the quiet, focused moment where someone feels seen, heard and yes, valued.
Since reading it, I’ve started asking myself as part of my morning routine:
Who needs my full attention today?
What conversation have I been avoiding?
Where can I bring clarity, care, or encouragement?
This book reminded me that progress isn’t always public. Sometimes, it sounds like “Tell me more.” Sometimes and let’s be honest most times, it feels like… sitting still and listening.
So here’s my reminder to myself… and maybe to you too: The next conversation, the next moment, matters. Show up for it. Bring intention. And trust that it’s enough.
