This is a first for me…
My first Father’s Day, the kind my wife and I have prayed for, dreamed of, and quietly hoped would one day arrive.
Today, I woke up with a full heart… grateful, humbled, and still in awe that I get to carry this title: Dad.
To my amazing wife, Becca, thank you for making me a father. You gave me the most beautiful gift in the world: our daughter. Your strength, grace, and love carry our family in ways I can never fully express. This journey would not be possible without you.
And to the men who helped shape me…the mentors, coaches, friends, and father figures, you showed me what it means to show up. You taught me that love is action, that presence matters, and that strength is often found in quiet consistency. I would not be here without you… you know who you are.
Fatherhood is already the most challenging and rewarding calling I have ever known.
And let us be honest… it is heavy sometimes. The pressure to protect…provide…guide. The unknowns. The questions that do not come with clear answers. The moments when I wonder if I am doing it right.
But here is the truth, we were not meant to walk this road alone.
To the dads out there carrying invisible weight… wondering if you’re enough…I want you to know this, you are not alone. I am here. Sometimes we just need another father to say, “I understand.” To remind us it is okay to ask for help. To be human. To be growing.
We need space to talk…pray…laugh…and even just sit in silence with someone who understands.
Simon Sinek reminds us to Start With Why. And my why has never been more clear.
I want to be a man of faith who leads with service and love—for my daughter, for my family, and for the world she will grow up in.
The mission feels deeper now…because the stakes are higher.
Jon Gordon, in The Energy Bus, reminds us that we are the drivers of our journey. So today…choose to drive forward with hope, joy, and intention. Not because I have all the answers, but because who I become as a father will shape how my daughter sees the world.
From High Road Leadership, I’ve learned that leadership is not about control…it is about courage and character. It’s about rising above when it would be easier to react. My daughter deserves that kind of father. And truthfully…so do I.
So here I am…brand new to this…far from perfect but wide open to the beauty of it all.
Years ago, I never imagined I’d be here. But now that I am…I would not change a thing.
With my daughter in my arms…life is richer, deeper, and more full of purpose than I ever knew possible.
